You buy through the cloud, via your .mac subscription to itunes, using
invite codes distributed through your foaf network on the basis of
digg credit. You don't actually spend money, but you do need to prove
that you could spend it if you were so inclined. You also don't
actually get a product. But you do get an email containing a picture
and video of a product, drmed so that you can show it to as many of
your friends as you have licence to do, according to your subscription
level. It will automatically be added to their "what my friends own"
facebook and myspqace widgets, and be tagged (and also RDFed) to
indicate that it is your property. If you feel like you actually want
any of the products functionality beyond this, there's an online
subscription to a service which allows you to use it for twenty four
hours (days recokoned at midnight PST) up to three times a year, if
your broadband is broad enough.
